We currently use a KER Team Member feed, but another store in my neighborhood carries KER products as well. Can you explain why I found two different KER-formulated feeds in the same region? Is one product better than the other?

The nutrition and exercise physiology studies conducted at Kentucky Equine Research (KER) help our nutritionists formulate the best products for KER Team Members. Located on six continents, our Team Members are usually regional feed manufacturers that seek advice and formulation assistance from the equine nutritional experts at KER. For the most part, Team Members are spread out over the globe with little territory overlap, but some of our larger and more progressive Team Members are branching out into new markets.
Since both feeds are formulated by KER and produced by KER Team Members, you can be sure that the feeds are optimally fortified with a KER micronutrient package (a blend of high-quality minerals and vitamins) and provide top-notch nutrition. These feeds will meet KER's recommended intake of each nutrient when fed as directed, in combination with an appropriate amount of good-quality forage, to the class of horse for which each feed is intended.
While feeds from both companies might have similar ingredients, the ingredients might be added in varying proportions or processed differently. For example, one feed producer may choose to use whole grains while another manufacturer might process grains by steam flaking, rolling, crimping, or cracking. So, while there are likely differences between the composition of feeds and manufacturing processes, products from both companies are outstanding, top-drawer choices. You won't go wrong with either product.
I hope this explains why you have found KER-formulated feeds in the same area of the country.
