Ballynoe Castle RM To Be Retired at 2017 RolexBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · April 24, 2017
The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2017 will be full of emotion for many reasons, but one stands out. The all-time points leader in U.S. eventing history, Ballynoe Castle RM, known as Reggie, will be retired during a ceremony on the final Sunday of the event in Lexington. Reggie was campaigned through his career by KER-sponsored equestrian Buck Davidson.
In January 2015, Reggie earned the position of overall points leader in USEA history with 1,377 points, to which he has added more than 300 more. Buck and Reggie earned 11 CIC3* top-three finishes and completed six CIC4* competitions over the course of their career together.
Owner Carl Segal told Eventing Nation, “It’s bittersweet for me to see him retire, but it’s great to see him retire on top of the sport and healthy.”
“Reggie has been on KER-formulated horse feeds since he arrived in the U.S.,” Buck said. “He has been one of the most successful horses in U.S. history and has done it all on KER-formulated horse feeds.”
