Riding Petite Flower, eventer Buck Davidson finished the USEF National Open Horse Trial Championship competition in first place, climaxing a year that included numerous successes on several horses. In fourth place after the dressage phase, Buck collected a few time faults on cross-country but moved into the winning spot with a clear show-jumping round.
