Davidson a Definite Entry for WEGBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · August 21, 2014
The list of definite entries for the 2014 World Equestrian Games (WEG) eventing competition in France has been posted. The list includes a record number of horse/rider combinations (97) and national federations (28). These numbers are up from 80 horse/rider combinations from 24 countries entered in the 2010 WEG held in Lexington, Kentucky. Sixteen national federations will enter teams, and 12 national federations will be represented only by individual riders.
Bruce “Buck” Davidson, Jr., a member of the U.S. team, is sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research (KER). Buck will be riding Ballynoe Castle RM, a 14-year-old bay Irish Sport Horse gelding owned by Carl and Cassandra Segal. To be sure the horse has all the energy he needs to complete the competition in top form, Buck feeds Re-Leve Sport and Ovation, two grain products developed by KER.
Re-Leve Sport is a completely fortified performance feed designed specifically for sport horses. This textured feed contains balanced omega fat sources and fiber-based carbohydrates for optimal performance. Re-Leve Sport provides calories that deliver manageable energy for optimal sport horse focus.
Ovation contains a blend of complementary energy sources that deliver the necessary levels of fat and complex carbohydrates for optimal sport horse performance. This pelleted feed is formulated with unique KER ingredient technologies, including Re-Leve Oil. Ovation is a palatable formulation designed for sport horses requiring balanced energy for maximum performance during competition and efficient muscle recovery afterwards.
David O’Connor, a long-time rider who is also sponsored by KER, is chef d’equipe for the U.S. eventing team competing at WEG.
