EO•3 Relieves Skin IrritationBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · April 11, 2017

Niles, a 16-year-old Welsh pony gelding owned by White Hall Plantation in Green Pond, South Carolina, suffers from severe allergies. He was treated with oral and injectable steroids, but found no relief for his skin irritation, which over time diminished his coat.

White Hall’s equestrian manager Megan Hunter contacted a KER nutrition advisor about a possible solution. The nutrition advisor recommended EO•3™, a potent source of omega-3 fatty acids, to help relieve his allergies and consequent skin irritation.

After one month on EO•3, Hunter noticed a huge difference in his condition and started to wean him off all steroids. After three months, Niles’ coat grew back so nicely that he now has to be body-clipped.

Hunter said, “Even with our up-and-down weather here, he is still maintaining on EO•3. I will continue to keep Niles on EO•3 year-round!”

EO•3 is a marine-derived oil that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that positively benefit numerous inflammatory conditions, reproduction, and bone development in horses. EO•3 contains an omega-3 concentration of 35%, surpassing most common fat supplements.
