KER Has Ties to Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event RidersBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · April 1, 2015

The competitor list for the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event includes several riders with ties to Kentucky Equine Research. Already registered for the four-star event are Buck Davidson, Lisa Barry, and Francis Whittington.

Davidson has entered four horses for the competition. He finished in third place in 2014 with Ballynoe Castle RM and will also ride Copper Beech, The Apprentice, and Petite Flower. Davidson is sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research.

Barry will ride F.I.S. Prince Charming, the horse on which she finished in second place at the 2014 CCI three-star Bromont Three-Day Event in Canada. Barry is also sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research.

Bringing his mount across the Atlantic Ocean for the event, Francis Whittington will ride the Irish Sport Horse gelding Easy Target in the event. The pair won the CCI three-star Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials in the U.K. last year. Whittington is sponsored by Saracen Horse Feeds, a Team Member of Kentucky Equine Research.

The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event will be held April 23 to 26 at the Kentucky Horse Park. It is the only four-star event in the Western Hemisphere and will serve as an official selection trial for the U.S. Eventing Team, helping to determine riders who will compete at the Pan American Games to be held in Toronto, Canada.
