KER Nutrition Supports Team USA at World Para Reining FinalsBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · October 25, 2016
KER-sponsored reiner Lisa Coulter is coaching the United States team for the World Para Reining Finals November 12-14 in Oklahoma City. Lisa is the founder and CEO/President of World Para Reining.
“I am in awe watching these riders on this team overcome personal hurdles they have regarding their disabilities and then rise up to the challenge of not only living very exceptional personal lives but also becoming true champions and leaders in the para reining sport,” Lisa said. “This is a team of past and future champions. They will inspire and encourage riders for years to come!”
Lisa’s string of successful champion reining horses are also part of the team. Western Whiz, a top reining horse named American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Para Horse of the Year, will be participating on the team with rider Briana Bartlett.
Erin Alberda is riding Ima Whimpy Chic, a horse owned by Tori and Brad Meggison, that has won open events in the past few years including third place in Level 2 Open Senior Horse at the AGHA World Show in 2014. Heather Smith is riding Sherry Adams’ gelding Bit O Hercules, a past CRI and USEF winner.
“I have much pride in what World Para Reining has built and all the riders,” explained Lisa. “There is a tremendous future to what we are building, and some very exciting stuff to be announced in 2017!”
