Kentucky Equine Research (KER) president and founder Dr. Joe D. Pagan will be a featured speaker at two upcoming events.
On March 24, Pagan will present on “The Evolution of Performance Feeding” at the Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Conference in Baltimore, Md. This conference is organized by the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as an educational event for the animal nutrition industry. More information on this event.
On March 28, Montana horse owners are invited to hear Pagan present on forages, feeding performance horses, and recent developments in equine nutrition. This event is organized by Montana State University’s College of Agriculture and MSU Extension. More information on this event.
Pagan formed KER in 1988 as an international research, consulting, and product development firm dealing in the areas of equine nutrition and sports medicine. KER served as the equine nutrition consultant for the last five Olympic Games and is the official equine nutritionist of the United States Equestrian Federation. In 2005, he received the American Feed Industry Association Award in Equine Nutrition Research. This award recognizes excellence in equine nutrition research and the contributions of an individual to equine feeding management practices and the equine feed industry.
In 2014, Pagan was recognized as a Graduate of Distinction by the Department of Animal Science at the University of Arkansas. Pagan earned a bachelor’s degree from the university in 1979 before obtaining a master’s degree and doctorate at Cornell University.
