KER Recognized for Web-Based Feed Evaluation Wizard By Kentucky Equine Research Staff · June 4, 2014
With the array of available horse feeds and a range of hay types on the market, horse owners are often baffled as to the best choices to meet the nutritional needs of their horses.
More than 20 years ago, Kentucky Equine Research (KER) simplified these decisions with a software program that analyzes user-entered data about the feeds being used for a particular horse in a specific exercise program.
The program, MicroSteed, has been continuously refined and updated to make it easier to use.
Most recently, MicroSteed has been made available for public use by adapting it for a web-based Wizard platform. The technology, which was awarded runner-up placement in the AFIA’s IT Innovation Award competition, was featured in a recent issue of Feed & Grain.
