KER's Research Includes Digestibility TrialsBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · February 18, 2015

Feeding the most expensive grain product from the fanciest bag won’t help a horse if the feed ingredients are in a form that can’t be easily digested, and therefore bioavailable, to the animal.

As performed at Kentucky Equine Research, a digestibility trial determines how horses derive nutrients from different sources and how nutrients interact with one another to affect digestibility. Digestibility trials take the guesswork out of nutrient requirements and intakes.
