KERx Products Prepare Reiner for World Equestrian GamesBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · July 9, 2014
Lisa Coulter, a top-ranked reiner sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research, will represent Canada in the 2014 World Equestrian Games. Coulter will compete with A Smokin Whiz, a six-year-old gelding with over $150,000 in earnings and many finals and wins to his credit.
Like many reiners, Three does not wear front shoes. “Because of our sliding maneuver the back shoes tend to pull off the front shoes when the horse slides,” Coulter explained. “Therefore, it’s really great when we can leave off front shoes to prevent the risk of injury from continually pulling front shoes. Bio•Bloom helps him stay safe and sound by allowing strong foot growth.”
Bio•Bloom and EO•3 also contribute to the sorrel gelding’s glistening coat, which Coulter says is “as healthy and robust as a coat can get. EO•3 also helps with the anti-inflammatory needs of my high-powered horse.”
As Coulter explained in this video, reining can be hard on a horse’s joints. She utilizes Synovate HA to keep her horses sound in both the short and long term. “Joint lubrication is primary in my reining horses as we stress joints daily,” Coulter said. “Sodium hyaluronate is something we regularly try to increase in our horses. Synovate HA makes this easy.”
The 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be held in Normandy August 23 through September 7.
