Meet a KER Intern: Kaitlyn M. By Kentucky Equine Research Staff · May 15, 2014
Kentucky Equine Research (KER), a private research company based in central Kentucky, offers summer and year-long internships to college students who want to gain hands-on experience in equine nutrition and exercise physiology studies.
Kaitlyn M. is currently a research barn intern at KER. Kaitlyn is from White Hall, Arkansas and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S.A. degree in animal science and minor in equine science. She rides both English and western styles and while in school at the University of Arkansas was a member of their barn staff. Before KER, she interned at KESMARC and did yearling prep at Lane’s End Farm. Kaitlyn wants to pursue a career in equine rehabilitation and therapy. While at KER she hopes to further that plan by improving her knowledge of exercise physiology in addition to being involved with the other studies performed at KER. She has a yellow Labrador retriever named Bailey that she loves.
