Rails Move Nicholson to Sixth at BadmintonBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · May 19, 2015
He led after dressage and kept the lead after the cross-country phase, but Badminton Horse Trials veteran Andrew Nicholson had three rails down in stadium jumping and fell to sixth place. Riding Nereo, a 15-year-old Spanish-bred chestnut gelding with years of eventing experience, Nicholson was philosophical about his results this year. “There’s something about Badminton that makes you want to go back,” he said. “You just have to put things in perspective.”
A top international rider who has numerous wins to his credit, Nicholson has completed the Badminton event 35 times without a first-place finish.
