Retired Racehorse Training ProjectBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · May 1, 2012
The Retired Racehorse Training Project promotes the use of off-the-track Thoroughbreds. The organization attempts to increase demand for retired Thoroughbred racehorses as pleasure and sport horses through public events, clinics, training publications, videos, and internet tools.
Many ex-racehorses are suitable for second careers in various equestrian disciplines, and this program offers a directory of trainers, available horses, and educational resources for those interested in acquiring a horse that is no longer training and racing.
