Trainers of Two KER-Linked Derby Winners in the NewsBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · July 30, 2015

California Chrome, winner of the 2014 Kentucky Derby and honored as Horse of the Year for his three-year-old season, is trained by Art Sherman. The Thoroughbred Owners of California have chosen Sherman to receive the Ed Friendly Industry Service Award for his outstanding contributions and service to the California racing industry.

Bob Baffert, trainer of the 2015 Triple Crown champion American Pharoah, has made substantial contributions to four charities that support the Thoroughbred industry. Receiving financial gifts are CARMA, a group that funds rehabilitation/retraining efforts in California; Old Friends, a retirement facility in Kentucky; the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance; and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.

For the horses in their racing stables, both trainers use feed products manufactured by Hallway Feeds, a Team Member of Kentucky Equine Research (KER). These feeds are formulated to include micronutrients supplied by KER.
