Young Horse Championships Planned by USEFBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · July 31, 2014
The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will hold the Markel/USEF National Young and Developing Horse Championships on August 20 to 24 in Wayne, Illinois.
Competitors must have qualified for this championship by acquiring show points and meeting specific requirements. Riders must be at least 16 years old, citizens of the United States, and members of USEF, and may ride no more than two horses in the event. Horses must become seven, eight, or nine years old in 2014 and have a current Annual or Life Recording with USEF. Mules and ponies are not eligible to compete.
Kentucky Equine Research (KER) is an educational partner of the USEF. In this role, KER equine nutritionists evaluate rations, answer questions about feed management and nutrition-related problems, and help to provide suitable forage and grain when USEF horses travel to international competitions.
