Zenyatta’s Jockey HonoredBy Kentucky Equine Research Staff · January 25, 2011
Mike Smith, who rode Horse of the Year winner Zenyatta to victory in many races and then to a second-place finish in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Classic, has received the Big Sport of Turfdom Award given by the Turf Publicists of America. The award recognizes an individual who has enhanced the sport of racing through cooperating with media and publicity workers. Smith also won the award in 2009 as part of “Team Zenyatta.”
